Far fetched day dreaming..

If anyone of you guys watched scrubs, you'd be familiar with J.D's imagination as he always does when someone says something interesting. I always have these moments when someone says something, a picture pops into my head. So the other day, I was sitting in front of my pc at work, thinking of the stuffs I could do at home. I had one of those moments, i was thinking about immortality.

What if, in the future, we could use the phrase "forever 21" and it actually means something. That age will not be a barrier, and no one would fear death for it will be non existent. What would the world become. Would it be a better outcome or would it destroy us all? If you have the chance to be like what you are now forever, would you? You'd keep your youth, which most tend to lose once we reach adulthood. You be young forever, you could do things in 50 years that you were not suppose to. You can have more time for more things, more goals to accomplish. Time will not be a limit, 24 hours a day will mean nothing, for you have eternity.

If mankind can live forever, it could change everything. If mankind can live forever, precious earth resources will continue to be used. When the last drop of petroleum has been mined, humans will think of a way to create new fuel sources, this will result in new advancement in technology. In a few years time, someone would have created a new type of transportation. We would have discover and built a machine for teleportation. Lightspeed can be achieved and we would be in touch with other races in the galaxy. Maybe at that time, there would be a international galaxy federation, earth would be invited to join because we have achieved the speed of light. Next thing you know, it's just like you're in a star wars movie, light sabers will be a reality, space travel if like travelling to the next town.

Poof! Back to reality, my boss just walked pass me. If only we could live in our imaginations.

Turn on your TV's ! (or torrents). The season has ended. For the summer, you would have nothing really interesting to watch. Though, i would be looking forward to Psych if it returns. The following shows have already had their season finale.

1. Grey's Anatomy
This was a great season for Grey's. Izzie suffers from cancer as Meredith and Sheperd takes the next step. We still see the other side of Callie Torres as she dates Arizona. Hunt and Christina were together but Hunt nearly killed her because he has post war trauma. It was an emotional roller coaster. I left the finale to the weekends because it's a two hour special. Can't wait!

2. Supernatural
Lucifer has risen. Where would the story go now? The angels were actually trying to raise Lucifer while Castiel didn't agree and wasn't on the rebels side. Lilith was the final seal and Ruby was actually playing Sam to make him kill Lilith. It was a great season for Dean and Sam Winchester. Looking forward to the next season!

3.Lost
I haven't caught up with Lost for a while now but the last episode i saw was Ben was judged by the island and her dead daughter appeared, asking him to not hurt John Locke or she will kill him. It's getting less draggy and i'd be finishing it soon.

4. Heroes
I have not watched Heroes for this season as it was getting kinda draggy and boring. Though i have the complete season and will watch when i have the time.

5. Fringe
My favourite show, alongside with Supernatural, The Mentalist, Lost and Grey's. If you love mysteries and the impossible in the world of science like teleportaion, mind reading, dark matter, human experiments, this is a must watch. You'd be a fan in an instant!

American Dad and Family Guy also wrap up their seasons last Sunday. The last episode of American Dad is funny as hell while Family Guy was so-so. Most of the series are going to end soon such as The Mentalist, How I Met Your Mother, Two And A Half Man and much more.

The show i'd be looking forward during the break would be TOP GEAR ! My favourite automotive program returning on June 21st!

I guess it's time for bed. I will end this post with a song. Some of you would have never heard of this band, but they are good. Feature on Grey's Anatomy Season 5 Epi 20.

The Rescues - Break Me Out

Until Then.

Action speaks louder than words.

Yesterday, Manchester United failed to secure a win against Arsenal in a poor, sloppy game. The game ended 0-0 at 90mins. The thing is, after that, everyone started celebrating, even though they drawed at Old Trafford. Well, if you haven't been following the Barclays Premier League, then here's an update for you.

MANCHESTER UNITED
08/09 BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

For the third consecutive time Manchester United have battled away competition to secure the Premier League Trophy. Liverpool did gave us a good run but we battled our way till the end, although from the bigger picture, we had been on top of the table for quite a while with one game in hand. There is still one more game to play, which is against Hull City. That would decide whether Hull City get's relegated or not. Here is the current table standings.

As you can see, even if Liverpool (Out of respect for pool fans, i shall use their rightful name) win the next two games, we'd be one point ahead. So it's consider job done for the season. Next stop would be the Champions League final against Barcelona!!

This picture was grabbed from LYN. This was from way back when Liverpool were in their glory days. One of their fans had put up this banner. Well, look at the statistics below,

Currently, Manchester United has succesfully halted Liverpool's train to catch up with 18 Premier League titles. What has Liverpool been doing all those years? I can only say that Sir Alex Ferguson is the best manager out there and he has done his job brilliantly to guide the team to glory. We are back with 18 titles, and as Sir Alex says, we'd be gunning for the 19th. Now, Manchester United is No. 1 Domestic team in England! Take that Rafa Bunnytez!

Here's the official wallpaper from manutd.com. You can get it from manutd.com.

It has been a great season, a great effort. It has been ups and downs. Here's 11 moments that won United their hattrick. (Note, it's not by me)

1) Warning Shots

Following an average pre-season, which culminated in lifting the Community Shield by beating Portsmouth, and losing the UEFA Super Cup showdown with Zenit St. Petersburg, Manchester United started the season slowly. This was nothing new – they often take time to settle into a rhythm – but this season their rivals looked ready to challenge their dominance.

On September 13, Liverpool, whose Spanish contingent were fresh from Euro 2008 glory, beat them in the league for the first time since 2002. Making his debut, €33 million signing Dimitar Berbatov assisted Carlos Tevez's early opener, but a Wes Brown own goal and Ryan Babel's strike gave the Reds three points at Anfield. Chelsea followed, and Salomon Kalou cancelled out Park Ji-Sung's opener to steal a point.

2) Tame The Tigers

United continued to stutter and, come November 1, they welcomed Premier League newcomers Hull City to Old Trafford, shockingly trailing the Tigers by two points. A thrilling game ensued.

Cristiano Ronaldo combined with Dimitar Berbatov before opening the scoring after just three minutes, yet Hull managed to equalise. The Red Devils then raced into a three goal lead, but the visitors gave them a fright at the end, and the match finished 4-3 in favour of the giants. Sir Alex Ferguson's men had seen off the challenge of a group of plucky upstarts, but losing to Arsenal the next week left question marks all over United and their title defence.

3) Golden Boy

On December 2, Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded the Ballon d'Or for his performances in 2008. The Portuguese powerhouse was often struggling to reach the high standards he'd set during the previous season, so the Golden Ball came as a welcome boost.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, this recognition perhaps helped 'CR7' to put thoughts of Real Madrid out of his head. It had looked as though the winger would start the season at the Bernabeu, but now he was officially the best player in the world, and he'd done it as a Man Utd player.

4) Post-Christmas Blues

Hard-fought wins over Stoke City and Middesbrough followed an untimely, but successful, Club World Cup jaunt to Japan. The ability to gain these points despite a harsh schedule would stand United in good stead later in the season.

Ferguson had been predicting a massive post-Christmas improvement from his side, and they certainly started 2009 with a bang. Veteran Ryan Giggs started to come to the fore during a 3-0 pounding of Chelsea, although it was Nemanja Vidic, Wayne Rooney and Berbatov who bagged the goals.

This performance, as well as being full of creativity and authority, pulled United to within a point of Chelsea and five behind Liverpool, with two games in hand.

5) Back On Top

On January 17, after Berbatov's late winner at Bolton Wanderers, Man Utd went to the top of the Premier League pile for the first time during the campaign. It was the defence, and goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, who were earning all the plaudits, however: the 1-0 win was their tenth clean-sheet in a row.

6) Nothing Lasts Forever

Newcastle United forward Peter Lovenkrands finally put the ball into Van der Sar's net on March 4, ending the Dutchman's stunning 1310 minute stretch without conceding. Centre-backs Vidic and Jonny Evans, who was usually covering for the injured Rio Ferdinand, took a massive amount of credit, but it was ultimately the strength of the entire team which made them unbreakable.

Nevertheless, United would respond instantly at St. James Park, with Rooney and Berbatov dragging their team back from the brink of defeat to win.

7) The Dip

The middle of March was a disastrous time for Manchester United. If there was to be no happy ending come May, then these two games against Liverpool and Fulham would have been considered the point at which it all went wrong.

Liverpool absolutely trounced them at Old Trafford, winning 4-1 after Vidic had been sent off amid an error-strewn display. The red mist descended again at Craven Cottage, where Paul Scholes and Rooney were dismissed en route to a shock 2-0 defeat at the hands of Fulham.

8) Introducing : Federico Macheda

Sir Alex Ferguson needed to find something special from somewhere if his troops were to fight their way to the title. Enter unknown 17-year-old Federico Macheda, who came off the bench to grab the winner against Aston Villa. The visitors had led with ten minutes remaining, but Ronaldo and Macheda secured a dramatic 3-2 victory.

They say lightning doesn't strike twice, but try telling that to Sunderland. Macheda took mere seconds to lift the Red Devils to a 2-1 win, when the three points had looked beyond them.

9) Showing Character

April 25 is a date that will likely stick in the memories of all who attended Old Trafford to watch United take on Tottenham Hotspur. Goals from Darren Bent and Luka Modric stunned the home crowd, but they responded to roar their side to a compelling second-half turnaround. Doubles from Ronaldo, Rooney and a final goal from Berbatov completed a stunning eventual 5-2 rout, although Spurs were aggrieved by some of the referee's decisions.

10) On The Brink

By May 13, Man Utd had shown that they were more than capable of winning ugly, winning spectacularly… winning by whatever means necessary. As they visited Wigan Athletic's JJB Stadium, they were four points from a third-successive title, and the nerves were evident. The hosts led at the break, and again United would have to do it the hard way to crush Liverpool's hopes of pipping them to first place.

Tevez – his future still hanging in the balance – became the latest inspired substitution as he skilfully flicked the leveller into the Wigan net, before Michael Carrick gracefully fired into the top corner with time running out. Another three points snatched from the jaws of failure, and now just one point away from getting their hands on the trophy…

11) Three-In-A-Row

Manchester United hosted Arsenal on May 16, kicking off the penultimate weekend of the season. With Rio Ferdinand injured, Ryan Giggs – previously awarded with the PFA Player of the Year gong – lead out the side, although it would be club captain Gary Neville who'd lift the famous trophy.

In truth it was a dour game, filled with broken-down attacks and scrappy play, but United fans couldn't care one jot as the 0-0 draw handed them their third successive title.

United thus equal Liverpool's record of 18 top-flight titles, and win an astonishing second Premier League hat-trick. For the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, it's eleven wins as the legend continues to be written.

End of story. Until Then! Glory Glory!

I'd TP your house with all these toilet papers.

Today at work, I had a tummy ache. I stop what I was doing and drifted to the toilet to answer nature’s call. As I close the door, I saw that there was no toilet paper. So I went next door to get the toilet paper there and came back to my cubicle. As I made myself comfortable, my mind drifted away as my butt makes the music. Halfway through it, I was looking at the toilet paper. It got me thinking, it was only 10 in the morning and the toilet paper has already been used up. Through my observations, I’ve noticed that the toilet paper will be refilled twice a day. So I made some calculations. There are 26 floors in Bangunan AmBank. Each floor has two toilets, one for female and one for male. Inside the toilet there are 4 cubicles where each will have a roll of toilet paper.

Bangunan AmBank

• 26 Floors
• 2 toilet each floor
• 4 cubicle each toilet
• 2 rolls of toilet paper each day.

So 26 floors X 2 toilets each floor is 52.
52 X 4 cubicles is 208.
208 X 2 rolls of toilet paper per day is 416 toilet paper used each day!

If we count the amount of toilet paper used in May itself, that would be
416 X 21 business days = 8736 toilet paper rolls for that month.
Not inclusive of non-working days.

That’s only for one month. How many trees have been cut down for humans to waste like this? I sat that and ponder. There are so many buildings that have toilets that use toilet papers everyday. With that amount of toilet paper, I could TP the Petronas twin towers with no problems. From far you would see the twin towers cover in white toilet paper and that would be real fun. I could TP every single mall in Malaysia with the amount of toilet paper used each day. Every mall would be cover in all sorts of toilet paper from all kinds of brand and with all sorts of material. It would be like snowing in Malaysia.

My hands kept pulling the toilet paper as I finish my business. I continued to think that one day if humans do not have toilet paper, what would happen? The next thing I know, I had already used and threw a handful of toilet paper in the toilet bowl. Then I realized

I’m just one of them. I’m a big hypocrite.

So I washed my hands, and went back to work. It was just another day in the toilet.

*TP means to throw/decorate a place/object with toilet paper

So what’s it like being a working adult. I must say it is quite fun. Why do I say its fun is because I love what I do. I love looking at codes and trying to solve them. I love programming. Although I’m not really a good one but I do work hard at what I do. Maybe this is just the beginning as I’m still a trainee. Some people say that it’s better to enjoy college life. I feel that they both have pros and cons. In college you could do what ever you want, be who you want to be. Nobody cares about what you do, you enjoy life to the max. It’s like a disorganize folder. Unlike being a working adult, you start to get reorganize. You have to be responsible for your actions. Anything you do can affect you in a way. Of course, for some of us who likes to wake up late. It’s also a habit that needs to be thrown out when you are working. Unless you are the boss.

Currently the only thing I feel not satisfied about is because I’m not working in a software house. In a software house, you are the vendor. You are providing the software therefore there is more programming to be done. As working in a bank, we do not develop our own software. We buy it from the vendors. The only programming we do is simple stuffs like writing scripts and if-else. In the future, I would love to gain more experience by working in a software house so that I can be exposed to different kinds of knowledge. Working in this bank also has its advantage. By learning how to use the software, I could get a job next time at a bank that uses this software because I have experience in using it. It would definitely benefit me this way.

You ask me what working life is? Currently I’m enjoying it. We will see whether my mind changes in the next few months.

What about you guys?

Until then

17th Day of Internship

It has been two weeks plus since i first joined AmInvestment Bank as a trainee. Every morning, i wake up, wash up, dress up, drive to the LRT station, take a train to Terminal Putra to avoid the daily congestion, a 25min train to Dang Wangi, pick up a copy of the Sun, walk over and switch to Monorail to Raja Chulan, a 10 minute walk to reach Bangunan AmBank. When i reach there, i look like i just ran a marathon. Take the elevator to the 14th floor, enter the office, sit down, cool down, take out my breakfast, make a cup of milo, and read the Sun till it's 8.45AM.

I usually don't like routines. It's just so boring.

Other than that, i made a call to Singapore, waited 30min plus in a few calls for the Streamyx Customer Service, made a call to Tropicana and write a few formulas on XML. That's practically what i did today.

I haven't been online for the past few days because my modems broke down on me. All three of the modems broke down on the same effing day. Even my backup modem, the Streamyx Official Modem broke down. The existing one could not boot up and the Streamyx one could not establish a coonection with the DSL line. I had to fork out RM108 to get myself a new D-Link 4Port modem router just to come home and find that i forgotten my effing password which i had change a few months back. Has to make a million calls to Tm Nut before they answer the phone. They basically do not need any knowledge to work on the hotline because they have a guidebook or a flowchart i do not know. Here is how it goes

1. Have you made a direct connection?
Yes - Proceed
No - Ask customer to perform one.

3. Perform Direct Connection
Success - Router Problem
Fail - Proceed

2. Open up CMD and ping 127.0.0.1
Success - Proceed
Fail - Restart Modem

3. Type IPConfig /all and see the IP
Success - Proceed
Fail - Restart NIC

4. If still cannot
Reset port/report/wait for technician

Follow the guidebook and you can solve everybody's problem. I think the main thing is not to solve the problem but to just provide a service for the customers to listen to the annoying music while waiting for a human soul to pick up a phone that will try to solve your bloody problem for you so that you feel satisfied because the service is provided.

Enough of that rant.

On to another topic, Have anyone of you tarcian recieve an email about the Aunty that sells Wan Tan Noodles over at SPL in Genting Klang? I always like to eat her noodles because she makes a generous portion. But after recieving this mail, i felt sorry for her.

Apparently, her husband was admitted into hospital and she has a hard time making a living to support herself and pay the medical fees for her husband. It's really sad to see her like that. So i hope maybe tarcians living around setapak could go buy her stall and order a plate of noodles. She had to turn to the loan sharks for money. She's already in her 70's and she has to work so hard. Sometimes life is just unfair.

Windows 7 RC test drive..and other stuffs

Windows 7 RC or release candidate was announce by Microsoft which became available to the public on the 5th of May. Release candidate means that the software could well be a version of the final product that will be launched in 2010. When the beta for Windows 7 first released, i managed to download but i never had the time to play with it due to exams and then i just got lazy. So when this came out, i went ahead and downloaded a copy and got my key to the product.

Although this is a release candidate, it is not really advised to run it as your primary operating system. So either you can install it in a different partition, creating to OS environment or you could just use a virtualization software. The current best software out there for home users would be the VMWare workstation.

What this software does is it allows you to boot up any OS with the expense of taking up a small amount of space in your hard disk and also you ram. So you can run two OS simultaneously. One thing to be noted is if you are running a 32-bit OS, you can not run a 64-bit version on the VMWare. You can only run it when your base OS is 64-bit.

And if you do not have enough memory to spare, you would be suffering as even i allocated 2GB of ram to the virtual machine, it still lags pretty badly. Maybe because i do not have a good cpu. A quad core processor would run it perfectly. Well, anyhow, it's no harm to try it out. Just to test and see the looks and feel of it.

Here we go. If the pictures are too small, you could always drop by to my flickr page.

Here's the VMWare configuration page. We need to power the virtual machine on !

When i first turn it on, it's quite fast when booting even as a virtual machine. I was quite impressed with it. Usually vista takes a minute or two.

Here's the main windows ! If you notice, there are no more tabs on the taskbar when you open programs or windows. Instead they are replaced by icons. Although sometimes i do prefer to read the name of the program or task that i am about to switch to. It practically has a explorer/library function when you open a folder. You can actually categorize your files in the different forms and it can be located no matter where the file is in the computer as long as it's in the library. Just like using a media player.

For paint lovers, there's your new interface. All sorts of new stuffs you can do!

The version that is currently out is the ultimate version. So you would have access to all the functions available. The new IE 8 as in display!

Logging off.

The Verdict.

I'm not too sure about what to say because i'm running it as a virtual machine and at times it's kinda slow. But it definitely looks promising. It looks and feels like Vista but it's different in terms of efficiency and also organizing data. There are loads of other features that i did not have the time to explore. But if all comes well, as in no software compatibility problems, it would definitely be the next big thing after Windows XP!

This is definitely something to look forward to.

On other stuffs, i've been cleaning and reorganizing my PC both physically and innerly, shall i say. I've move my PC from bottom to top. Mostly because i felt it need more fresh air and i need more space under my table.

It looks kinda messy. My PC takes up half of the space on my table. I may plan to reshift it again but don't know to where. I might just bring out one of the tables as study table outside in the living room and have one as my PC table in the room.

This is how my Vista looks now. Just for the heck of it. Although my CPU still burns at 50Celcius even on idle mode. But it looks nice. Lol.

After seeing a few of my friends taking time to blog about their internship experience daily. I too am considering doing it. I don't have internet connection at my work place and to have one i would have to apply for it because working in a place like a bank, you need Black and White. But it's a good practice to write about what happen so that the next time, i can ponder back and see all the bad and the good from this experience.

I guess i'll be heading to bed.

And oh yea. The results of the Manchester Derby. How could i forget.

Manchester United 2 - 0 Manchester City.

Goals from Ronaldo and Tevez saw Manchester United sink Manchester City in this exciting derby match. United was superb in the first half but started poorly in the second half, making Sir Alex Ferguson made some changes which saw Ronaldo substituted for Scholes. He did not understand the decision of the Gaffer and threw a tantrum. Overall it was a great game, superb performance by Nemanja Vidic. You could hear the stadium chanting his name and singing Nemanja, Ohh! With Ferdinand, Carrick by the sidelines, it was a solid performance by United that brought them back to the top of the table. And by next saturday against Arsenal, provided a win is achieved on the weekdays against Wigan. United may be looking at a 18th and second consecutive League Trophy.

Off to bed now.

Until Then!

Quickie

I'm about to go to bed. Tomorrow's Monday. Yea, dreadful Monday. I hate Mondays, no wonder people feel suicidal on Mondays.

Internship has been quite alright, got hands-on on Unix and XML. Been to the new system's reporting training. Learning how to use the reporting functions. Fyi, the IT Department i'm currently in is in charge of the treasury. So, most of the terms used are like technical jargon to me. No idea. It's been two weeks, ended April quite satisfied with myself. Here comes May.

And is anyone feeling lazy to bother about college work? Although i miss the times that i could just skip lecture, and wake up late, i don't have the "oomph" to do my Final Year Project stuffs. That's why my supervisor said, most of the students that went to training usually come back having more stuffs to do. Because working life and studying life is different.

For some reason i am fascinated by how when i type on the keyboard and the words "magically" appear on the screen. Makes me wanna keep on typing. Lol.

I missed a few things to blog about, especially my 21st birthday post, and lots of stuffs. Hmm, and some issues, and, emo stuffs and, yea, the swine flu.

Swine flu alert, hope most of you read the newspaper as it has reached Phase 5, which means a pandemenic is imminent. So please all of my friends and families please do take care. Stay away from pork for a while and if possible, try not to travel.

I'm off to bed, until the next post.

Short Update - Internship

I was late for work today. Stupid jam at Jalan Genting Klang. It took me an hour plus just to get out of that stupid stretch of road. Don't know what the hell is causing all that. I had to be at work at 8.45am. Ended up reaching at 9.05am. Luckily no one said anything.

I'm currently having my internship at AmInvestment Bank. Sounds like an interesting job eh. Unfortunately, i have zero experience in Unix and XML. So i need to study them to grasp the language. For the first day at work, i attended a briefing on a new system for problem reporting. It was quite interesting. I and my friends were then introduced to the team, and we were given our own table and computer to sit and work. We were given some Unix scripts to work on. But other than that, i practically did nothing much. First week i guess, have to see how are we like and let us adapt to the environment.

Went for the hands on training today. After that, just sat down and waited for lunch. Browse the ambank web page. We do not have web access there. How sad. After lunch, again sat down in front of the computer. Was given a Unix book to study and practice. Waited for 6PM to come. Actually work ended at 5.45pm, but since i was late, so i decided to stay a bit longer.

As for tomorrow i probably be taking the LRT to work. Don't wanna waste time stuck in a endless and pointless jam.

Hope everything goes well during my internship, can't wait for the weekend!!

until then.

Epiphany (Not Really)

There are a few things that i planned to blog about but i keep forgetting. It was never a habit of me to write down the things that i wanna blog about because, well, i like to be spontaneous. But i realize that we cannot be that all the time. Somethings need planning, need time to work on it, need time to practice. Spontaneously will only bring a fair outcome, well, to me, i don't know about you guys. I used to think that i do not need to go through my points during a presentation when i was in diploma, i felt that since i can speak, why can't i do it during a presentation? I ended up looking for words to say, pausing, ummm-ing all the time.

This does not only apply to speaking, but also decisions, actions, work, all sorts, but i think girls like guys to be spontaneous. It surprises them when guys do something out of the box, something they would not usually do.

I watched Yes Man yesterday. It was a good movie, i would say. After finishing the movie, i sort of think to myself. Am i shutting myself from the real world? Everybody has a group of friends they really trust and would do anything for them, do i have that group of friends? When opportunity comes, i don't have the confident to say yes.

I remember there was once i was asked by a fellow course mate to help out in a event for our school. Become the Emcee for the event to be exact. I thought to myself, i would not have the confident to stand up on a stage facing a crowd and speak. So i decided not to. When i come to rethink that decision, it was a stupid decision to say no. It's a opportunity for me to step up, no harm done. I think i'm not really a risk taker. I am scared of what will happen if i fail. I only do things that i'm confident i can achieve them.

And there were a few times where my classmates asked me out, i refused because i felt akward. Honestly guys, no offence, i thought that i was the "wierd" one in class. I could not get into the circle. So i decided to box myself up and stay in my comfort zone.

Sometimes i think that people think that i have everything, great life, good friends, good results, but i do not. It's not a bed of roses for me. I'm just like every single soul out there.

All these things that i have done, was because i did not have the courage to actually try something new. I did not say YES because i'm afraid of the outcome. There was once i thought that i actually overcomed the phase. But i realize that, psychologicaly, we who are afraid tend to shove ourselves back in to our comfort zone, telling ourselves everything is alright. A naturalist, doing nothing about whatever that happens.

Looking at myself, i would say that i do not have really good friends. Just good friends, not the ones that would stand by you no matter what happens. It's rare to have friends that will be by your side because i feel in this era, people are all egoistic, fighting for themselves, fighting for survival. My life ain't that sweet either, but there are people that are worst than me out there, i shall not compliant. There are times when i had good friends, really good friends, but i let them slipped away, didn't bother to make contact, catch up, all just talk no action. Slowly they just forget, forget that you ever existed. Because you did not bother to keep in touch. Yes i believed that happened. It is also that all of us has just walked our own path, meet new people, new life, new environment, the old one just got replaced.

One thing i really hate is that people have this thought that since i have a girlfriend, i don't really need my friends anymore. I would ask, " Why didn't you ask me out??", " You got girlfriend what...". I hate that. Doesn't mean that i have a girlfriend i don't wanna hang out with my friends. I have time for both my girlfriend and my friends. I hate that when people have that idea about me.

I think i need to start to live the life, grab the opportunities, take risks. Say Yes to more things. You never know what you would get when you say Yes.

Lessons from playing poker. There are always up's and down's in life. But if you dare to take the risk, it might just pay off.

*P/s, picking up advice from movies is never a good idea. Please do not try anything silly*

Until then.

*O Ya. I'm back in Penang. Going back to KL on Saturday. Industrial Training starts next week. Anxious but excited.*

Wishlist

I finally finished my System Requirement Specs for my final year project so now i have time to cakap a bit here. Have been very busy for the past few days, having insomnia almost every night due to sleeping in the wee hours. Plus the weather was hot.

So, this is a wishlist. Haha. Things that i wish i can get for this year. I am doing this out of boredom and since my ******** is just around the corner. I get to make a list ! Haha

If you guys know me, you'd already know the list is gonna be filled with gadgets.

So here goes my *selfish* wishlist

10. PS3

I wanna play guitar hero! haha. But this wish is kinda far fetched. But what the hell.

9. Speakers

My speakers spoilt already. Everytime play movies or songs, the audio only comes out from one side. Should get new one. Pc Fair is around the corner!

8. 1 Year Subscription to Top Gear Malaysia

This i'm lazy to do. No money to do also. Buy alternate months only. Which reminds me, i haven't even finish reading February's issue.

7. 1TB External HDD

Too many movies, series, games. Too little space.

6. Manchester United Home Kit 07/09

I have already bought myself the third kit. Planning to get the home kit soon. But then it seems that the home kit is gonna change already. But then i like the current home kit. Haha

5. i7 Set

The magical words. Open doors to a new future. The ultimate killer rig must have.

4. Geforce 285 GTX

I'm not greedy. Am i???? No I'm not.

3. A decent dslr capable digital camera

Something like those that look like dslr's but not dslr.

2. Laptop

For future purpose, so this means that this wish will be for the future then.Lol

1. iPhone

Still need to explain?

So that's my top 10 for the year. I guess. So if i'm not that selfish and self-centered, here's my wish list

1 - 10 : World Peace

That settles it.

But still there are somethings that i would like to wish for.

To my family, i wish that we will always be in good health and be protected from harm. That we would live happily and healthy no matter what.

To my friends, i wish all of you succeed in what ever you do. Especially in you studies and also for those who have already started their career. I also wish that we always stay in touch because some friends are hard to replace.

Hmm..any more wishes?

Ohhh riteeeeee!

Manchester United win the Quadruple this season. *Wish Wish Wish Wish*

I'll stop here.

Until then!

Out Of Time

I'm back again, not sleeping yet again. Poker is all the rage these few days, so is j-rock and anime songs. Awesome. I play facebook poker. It's kinda addictive. Me and my friends can just sit and play poker for few hours straight. As i say i'm into j-rock these few days, these are my recommendation

Donten - Does (Gintama OP)
Aqua Timez - Velonica (Bleach OP)
Tommy Heavenly7 - Papermoon (Soul Eater OP)

Best nyer. Thanks to AlecKor for the songs! He big J-Pop fan. Can ask him into japanese songs.

Am busy with Final Year Project stuffs. Gotta complete the system specs by this week asap. Still slacking behind, playing fifa and poker. While exams are coming up soon, soon as in like 3 weeks or so. Only one paper for this semester, moral then i'm off to industrial training for 6 months. I'm stepping into the battlefield! Woot.

About my internship, i got accepted into AmFinance. Their building is located at Jalan Raja Chulan, the AmBank building. Kinda lucky to be accepted and am happy because i do not need to be interviewed again. But then i will be attending another interview next week to help the college as the MQA or Malaysian Qualification Agency would like to interview the students.

I should be sleeping man, but i'm still awake.

Just now i went to Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa, Kampung Baru and had nasi lemak. It's just so so and the teh ice taste a little way off the ordinary teh ice i have. It's kinda pricey as a normal nasi lemak cost RM2.95, while toppings like chicken or sotong are priced from RM3.95 - RM4.95. A teh ice cost RM2.95. Not really worth it. Anyway, the place i went is just behind my place at Taman Melati Utama.

What should i do for my seminar, i'm still confused. Not sure what to pick. Suddenly i feel very hungry right now.

Random post. Sleep now. Blog later.

until then!

Being on top.

I'm having insomnia, that's the reason i'm blogging at this time in the morning. I will be having a Skill Based Assessment at 9AM later, i'm so gonna be in trouble.

The reason for this entry is about me and my studies. I was not a smart kid, never was. I would say i'm average. My grades were quite good during primary, but when i got to Standard 3, i just started to be not that good, i dropped to the second class, constantly playing a fool. I scored 4As 2B in my UPSR. As i moved on to secondary, i was even worst. I flunk papers, score some, got 4As 3Bs in my PMR. I'm still consider as average, always in the top 200 in school out of 400 students. For my SPM, i only manage to score 2As with a bunch of B,C and D.

Come to think of it, i am just an average student, i'm not a genius like some of the fellas in my school, scoring As for every single paper they get on their hands. I never thought that i would be that good. Never even crossed my mind. I'm just average. But i believe in hardwork. If you put effort, you will definitely gain results. The results you get will be the same as the amount of effort you put in.

Moving on to College. I did pretty well for my diploma. Scoring 3.704 for my CGPA. I would say that i am surprise that i'd do that well. Maybe it's because that i actually am interested in what i was studying. People start to think that i'm one of the smart ones, the one on top. Honestly, i never really regard myself as that. When people tell me that "You sure straight As la" or "You scared what? Always score so high" and the best "You won't know whats the failing grade cause you have never been near there at all". Well, i really did not know about the failing grade. I actually gain something from that, i became more confident. I even earned myself a scholarship for my Advance Diploma course which i would never expected myself to get. But i believe some regarded me as a selfish fella that would not share my work. I am actually surprise that people that are better than me will think that i'm actually really good. It just feels not right. I remember a classmate once said that he thinks that i'm smart and wished he has good grades like me. To think about it that the fact is he was as good as i am and he did better actually in the previous finals. I just find it funny that people think that i'm actually smart!

I'm not that smart seriously, i'm only average. Maybe i get good grades because i put in extra effort. But thoughout all this times, i tend to surprise myself. Last semester results, i got 2As,2Bs and a C+. I was shocked that i got a C+ because it's been a while i scored a C. This actually pulls me back to reality. The fact that sometimes i think that i'm already good enough, is not true. My lucky streak ends here. It shows that, i am slacking and i'm not putting enough effort. Other students are scoring straight A's. I find it embarassing to get a C. But then i shouldn't, because this is what i get for the effort i put in.

I always thought i was lucky, scoring good grades was luck. I don't know why i think like that but maybe it's because i'm not confident. Now i'm not on top, i'm just average. Always have been. What i need to do is to put more effort to turn average into good.

This is reality, this is what i need, this shows that i'm not perfect, there are going to be ups and downs. I'm not like those people that score every single paper. I know i'm not, i know my ability. I have not the brains of smart people. But maybe, a little effort can change average to good. Reality sucks, but i would have to pull through. I tell myself, a C+ was not what you expected, so work hard the next time.

It's wierd, looking back at the past, and looking at the present. What have i become, the things that i've done. The difference between me 10 years ago and now. Still,i wanna be on top, and that's for sure.

Looks like i just completed paragraphs of gliberish.

I got 2 hours of sleep before i get up at 7am for revision.

Until then.

Melaka Trip Part 1

So, last Monday was a public holiday. Me and my friends decided to take a road trip down to Melaka for food and sightseeing. We took off in the morning and there was me, Way Shoon, Crystal and Sze Ling. It's a two hour trip down to Melaka, i've never drive on the North-South Expressway after KL. We reached Melaka at ard 11 and head straight to town. There wasn't anything to see around Ayer Keroh on the way to town. There are a few farms such as butterfly farm, crocodile farm and so on. So in we went into Melaka Town. There are a lot of one way streets in Melaka, makes it kinda confusing. We parked at Jonker Street and headed down for lunch.

Our first stop was this small cendol stall where there are so many coke collectibles that could actually make him a millionaire.

Coke Fanatic

The Nyonya Cendol here is very tasty. It's different compared to the cendols i have back in Penang, mostly due to the Gula Melaka. One spoon makes me want it more. It's really one of the must try when you're in Melaka.

Cendol!

From Right To Left: Way Shoon, Crystal, Sze Ling, Cendol Seller.

The stall is just right in front of the Chicken Rice Ball Shop, Hoe Kee Hainan Chicken Rice Shop. That's where we headed after having our cendol!

Not many pictures were taken in the shop cause we were very hungry. Although the girls did have time to camwhore.

Chicken Rice Balls!

Me Hungry!

It was kinda delicious. The rice balls look like fish balls and they won't break as though they are glued together but once you bite it, it does not feel all goey or sticky, it tastes and feels like rice. Awesome eh.

After our lunch, we walked around Jonker Street looking around.

Jonker Walk.

Goofing Around.

We walk around and enter a few shops, nothing really catches my eye. It's actually kinda expensive to buy stuff there. A lot of gifts and souviniers. As we explored Jonker Street, it started raining. We could not go anywhere as it continued raining for the whole day. We then walked to a WanTan Mee stall over at Jalan Tun Tan Cheong Lok which was recommended by The Star Newspaper's Street Food guide. It wasn't that good actually. We then headed to the Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum. We could not get pictures in there cause it wasn't allow. It was kinda interesting to learn about it.

It rained....

The rain then got heavier and we had to walk to the car and proceed to someplace else. We wanted to go to the Red Church and AFamosa but the rain wouldn't let us. We drove around and we spotted this tower that looks like the space shot in Genting but it was for sightseeing.

Not take by me, But it's damn nice. By a flickr uploader name p o l i n i.

So up we went cause it was raining and this looked kinda fun when it's raining. It went high up and started spining round. We can see the straits of Melaka and also Melaka town. I had a headache when i came down from it. Guessed the spinning made me nauseous.

Us in Menara Taming Sari.

I will talk about the second part later. It's getting late and i'm sleepy.

P/S: Manchester United Won 2 - 0 against Inter Milan on Wednesday night. Looking foward to the big game this weekend. Liverpool - Manchester United. Will be there cheering for my team. Glory Glory!

Until then!

Update update Update update!

So, Manchester United won the Carling Cup over the weekend! I could not bear watching the moments in extra time when Tottenham's attack all drifted away from the goal. Then it came to penalties, reminds me Moscow where Ronaldo missed.

But this guy,

Man of The Moment

Ben Foster is certainly proving a point in the game. I can see him in the first eleven real soon after Van Der Sar retires. He made really good saves during the match and is determined enough to save one of the penalties. I hope to see more of him soon.

And definitely more of this.

Anyone up for a Quadruple this season?

Been watching Friends for the past few days. Love it. Am at season 3 now. Who doesn't love Friends?

Been kinda busy with Final Year Project, not busy doing it but thinking about ideas and technology to implement. With my moral assignments due soon, this week is kinda pack with work to do, but anyhow, tomorrow is a friday and friday is a no class day. So me and friends have decided we should take a break to....

MELAKA!!

A one day trip to the historical city and of course the delicious delicacies! Still considering though and the fact that we are heading there clueless because we do not have any idea how to get there by car. But i will update if i am going there tomorrow !

I still have not get any interviews for industrial training. Still waiting for updates from supervisors.

Saturday will be the release of Advance Diploma Semester 2 exam results. Not particularly looking forward to it but no choice. I hope i will do well cause last semester was really kinda difficult. Anything can happen so wish me luck!

I'ma update later.

until then!

Valentine's Day

I'm kinda amused that people celebrate Valentine's Day with no clue about the origins of the day. All they know is that's the day that they should spend a lot of money to impress a girl or get laid. Can't blame the people, this day has been modernized throughout the years.

Quoted from Wikipedia

Thanks to a concentrated marketing effort, Valentine's Day is celebrated in some Asian countries with Singaporeans, Chinese and South Koreans spending the most money on Valentine's gifts.

Well, i spent Valentine's Day with Lay Theng from Midvalley to The Curve and back to Midvalley.

We went Midvalley for shopping and collected our movie tickets for the night. We were going to watch Pink Panther 2!

We then moved on to The Curve. The reason i chose to have dinner at the curve is because i could get roses for her. I have made reservations for half dozen of roses for only RM25 from mySimplifieds.com. If you don't know what is mySimplifieds.com, head down to their web site. It's where you can post classifieds like you do on newspaper. very useful i say. They had the valentine day promotion. With all the prices of roses and gifts going up, it's kinda crazy to spend RM100+ on a bouquet of roses.

We reached the curve, we walked around doing window shopping. I asked to be excuse, saying that i wanted to check out our reservation for dinner. So i quickly walked to Cineleisure Damansara where the mySimplifieds.com's booth is located to collect my roses. I went back into the shopping mall and look for her and then TaDa!

We then moved on to Italliani's! It's my first time there and i was kinda excited. We already made reservations so we got in as soon as we reached. The atmosphere was great where the tables where all seperated into single tables and every table has a candle. A very romantic night i would say.

In the menu, we were to share our appertizers and desert while the main course is for two of us. She had the spaghetti with seafood and i had steak. For appertizers, we had deep fried mushroom with cheese and tiramisu for desert.

This is one of the most tastiest food i ever consumed. It's just so good.

Our drink for the night, i don't remember what's the name but it has wine and strawberry and some juice.

Here's baby at the table!

What i had for the night. It was delicious.

Baby and her spaghetti.

The best. Nothing more. You taste a hint of wine as you eat the tiramisu.

We sat there and enjoyed our dinner and chat the night away. As it was time to go, i asked for the bill. It came with a staggering amount of RM230. I actually thought the set was RM85 for two. But it is actually RM85 per person for the main course. That practically spoil the mood for the night. Luckily we had enough cash or we would be spending the night cleaning in the kitchen.

On the bright side, we won free latin dance classes from mYoga worth RM300!

This was what i got her. Reddish Twin by doodolls!

Classes have already started and we are suppose to hand up our final year project proposal by 28th of February! For this semester i have two subjects, Advance Networking and Moral. Not really fond of my Advance Networking tutor. My Moral tutor on the other hand is kinda interesting. Today we talked about homosexuality and abnormal sex. Wait, maybe the topic was interesting.

Still waiting for the results from my interview. I did not blog on how the interview went. Maybe next time. It was my first actual interview and it was real scary.

I'm gonna finish my proposal now.

Until then!

Technews roundup

G-Shock Gulfman

Over the weekend, i've got myself a new watch. I've always wanted to get a watch because my previous one went in for surgery and never came back. That was like 5 years ago. So, i went watch shopping and decided i get this.

G-Shock Gulfman

I like the watch because of the rugged styling and it's the perfect guy watch for outdoor and stuffs. It features a tide graph which keep tracks of the tide level and a moon graph which keep tracks of the phase of the moon. You have to set the coordinates to be accurate. Furthermore, it also has world time, 3 alarms, a stopwatch and a timer. It also has auto EL where with a flick of the wrist, the light on the watch will turn on.

Built wise, it has rust resist where part of the watch body is made of titanium, G-Shock shock proof and 20 bar water resistance which means 200M. Not suitable for diving though.

Closeup

Overall i find the watch very useful and durable. I still haven't managed to set the tide and the moon graph though.

Microsoft Windows 7 _______. What!?

Microsoft has announce the versions of the upcoming Windows 7. There will be 6 of them which are (source from engadget):

Windows 7 Starter

* Available worldwide to OEMs on new PCs
* Missing Aero UI tweaks
* Limited to 3 simultaneous applications

Windows 7 Home Basic (Vista equivalent: $200)

* Only available in emerging markets
* Missing Aero UI tweaks

Windows 7 Home Premium (Vista equivalent: $260)

* Available worldwide, to OEMs and in retail
* Includes Aero UI tweaks
* Features multi-touch capabilities
* Adds "premium" games
* Adds media capabilities (Media Center, DVD playback, DVD creation, etc.)
* Can create home network groups

Windows 7 Professional (Vista equivalent: $300)

* Available worldwide, to OEMs and in retail
* Includes all features of Premium
* Adds enhanced networking capabilities (Remote Desktop host, domain support, offline folders, etc.)
* Adds Mobility Center
* Adds Presentation Mode

Windows 7 Enterprise

* Available only in volume licenses
* Includes all features of Professional
* Adds Branch Cache
* Adds Direct Access
* Adds BitLocker

Windows 7 Ultimate (Vista equivalent: $320)

* Limited OEM and retail availability
* Includes all features of Enterprise

IMO, why can't they have only two versions? The home and the professional. Wouldn't it make life much more easier? Furthermore, to actually encourage users to switch to Windows 7, although there are positive reviews from the beta, it must be backward compatible and will not have problems supporting the softwares that previous windows supported. Because of the incompatibility, a lot of users refused to switch to Vista. It's a different story now, although some games still refuse to corporate with Vista. Windows 7 must make it easy for user to convert, that will be the critical point of success as it already performs well in the beta tester.

New iPhone rumored, due June 2009.

True or false?

There is no exact proof over how true this can be but it is rumored that there will be a new iPhone from the fellas at Cupertino. Probably during June because summer is the time when Apple will usually introduce new products. It is said that the iPhone will have new features over the old features, which i hope this would be some it:

MMS capability
Copy and Paste
Bluetooth sharing
Video capture
Video call
Better megapixel camera

There is even rumors about an iPhone nano. I wonder.

I'm still waiting to get my hands on one. There's a thing about technology where it is limitless, new stuffs keep emerging everyday and it's difficult to catch up with all. I've been waiting for the iPhone since 2G and now with this new rumor, i am reluctant to get the iPhone. Should i wait? By the time i get enough cash, i bet the new one would be out. Or not.

Current Wanted List

Here are a few items i would want to get my hands on.

  1. Rams (4GB Kits)

Since my Crucial Ballistix Tracer died on me again. Second time. I am considering 2X2GB sticks. I now have 2X1GB patriot and 2X1GB Ballistix Tracer but am running only on 2GB patriot rams. Am considering 2X2GB Kingston HyperX which cost around RM230.

  2. Graphic Card

I keep telling myself i gotta upgrade this, gotta start saving money. Am waiting for the price of 260GTX to go down. Or maybe settle for a ATI HD4870. By upgrading the card, i would have to upgrade my power supply to support the additional power needed. The estimated cost would be around RM1K? If you really want to play games with good graphics, never settle for a mid-range card, it's just not satisfying enough, just like my 8600GTs.

  3. HDD

The endless number of series, movies and ISOs are killing me. i need an additional portable HDD. 1TB should be sufficient. In other news, Seagate has introduced it's first 2TB HDD. Woot!
On the dreamer's list, an i7 system. That would definitely be awesome.

My interview is approaching soon and i'm nervous/excited. I really hope i can get the job. Wish me luck !

I guess that's all for now. Still trying to find a solution to my boredomness. Watched house and played Fifa Online today. I also bought Fifa 09 today. I think i shall just read Steve Berry's The Venetian Betrayal.

Until then.

What?

You know what? We need more of this. Listening too much of emo and rock songs makes me a sadist. LoL. What we need is a dose of happiness. Carefree and nothing to worry about, living in our own world. Yes, we need an escape. So ladies and gentlemen, i present you your escape.

It's too unreal. But it's so happy ! haha.

Next, i present to you, the PCD of Korea. Less power though.

*The girl in pink is kinda hot.*

In case anyone wonder where i got this from, blame MTV.

Something for the girls. Please don't try this on an unstable object.

I'm so freaking bored. Anything to do? Save me from the endless boredom!
