Valentine's Day

I'm kinda amused that people celebrate Valentine's Day with no clue about the origins of the day. All they know is that's the day that they should spend a lot of money to impress a girl or get laid. Can't blame the people, this day has been modernized throughout the years.

Quoted from Wikipedia

Thanks to a concentrated marketing effort, Valentine's Day is celebrated in some Asian countries with Singaporeans, Chinese and South Koreans spending the most money on Valentine's gifts.

Well, i spent Valentine's Day with Lay Theng from Midvalley to The Curve and back to Midvalley.

We went Midvalley for shopping and collected our movie tickets for the night. We were going to watch Pink Panther 2!

We then moved on to The Curve. The reason i chose to have dinner at the curve is because i could get roses for her. I have made reservations for half dozen of roses for only RM25 from mySimplifieds.com. If you don't know what is mySimplifieds.com, head down to their web site. It's where you can post classifieds like you do on newspaper. very useful i say. They had the valentine day promotion. With all the prices of roses and gifts going up, it's kinda crazy to spend RM100+ on a bouquet of roses.

We reached the curve, we walked around doing window shopping. I asked to be excuse, saying that i wanted to check out our reservation for dinner. So i quickly walked to Cineleisure Damansara where the mySimplifieds.com's booth is located to collect my roses. I went back into the shopping mall and look for her and then TaDa!

We then moved on to Italliani's! It's my first time there and i was kinda excited. We already made reservations so we got in as soon as we reached. The atmosphere was great where the tables where all seperated into single tables and every table has a candle. A very romantic night i would say.

In the menu, we were to share our appertizers and desert while the main course is for two of us. She had the spaghetti with seafood and i had steak. For appertizers, we had deep fried mushroom with cheese and tiramisu for desert.

This is one of the most tastiest food i ever consumed. It's just so good.

Our drink for the night, i don't remember what's the name but it has wine and strawberry and some juice.

Here's baby at the table!

What i had for the night. It was delicious.

Baby and her spaghetti.

The best. Nothing more. You taste a hint of wine as you eat the tiramisu.

We sat there and enjoyed our dinner and chat the night away. As it was time to go, i asked for the bill. It came with a staggering amount of RM230. I actually thought the set was RM85 for two. But it is actually RM85 per person for the main course. That practically spoil the mood for the night. Luckily we had enough cash or we would be spending the night cleaning in the kitchen.

On the bright side, we won free latin dance classes from mYoga worth RM300!

This was what i got her. Reddish Twin by doodolls!

Classes have already started and we are suppose to hand up our final year project proposal by 28th of February! For this semester i have two subjects, Advance Networking and Moral. Not really fond of my Advance Networking tutor. My Moral tutor on the other hand is kinda interesting. Today we talked about homosexuality and abnormal sex. Wait, maybe the topic was interesting.

Still waiting for the results from my interview. I did not blog on how the interview went. Maybe next time. It was my first actual interview and it was real scary.

I'm gonna finish my proposal now.

Until then!

Technews roundup

G-Shock Gulfman

Over the weekend, i've got myself a new watch. I've always wanted to get a watch because my previous one went in for surgery and never came back. That was like 5 years ago. So, i went watch shopping and decided i get this.

G-Shock Gulfman

I like the watch because of the rugged styling and it's the perfect guy watch for outdoor and stuffs. It features a tide graph which keep tracks of the tide level and a moon graph which keep tracks of the phase of the moon. You have to set the coordinates to be accurate. Furthermore, it also has world time, 3 alarms, a stopwatch and a timer. It also has auto EL where with a flick of the wrist, the light on the watch will turn on.

Built wise, it has rust resist where part of the watch body is made of titanium, G-Shock shock proof and 20 bar water resistance which means 200M. Not suitable for diving though.

Closeup

Overall i find the watch very useful and durable. I still haven't managed to set the tide and the moon graph though.

Microsoft Windows 7 _______. What!?

Microsoft has announce the versions of the upcoming Windows 7. There will be 6 of them which are (source from engadget):

Windows 7 Starter

* Available worldwide to OEMs on new PCs
* Missing Aero UI tweaks
* Limited to 3 simultaneous applications

Windows 7 Home Basic (Vista equivalent: $200)

* Only available in emerging markets
* Missing Aero UI tweaks

Windows 7 Home Premium (Vista equivalent: $260)

* Available worldwide, to OEMs and in retail
* Includes Aero UI tweaks
* Features multi-touch capabilities
* Adds "premium" games
* Adds media capabilities (Media Center, DVD playback, DVD creation, etc.)
* Can create home network groups

Windows 7 Professional (Vista equivalent: $300)

* Available worldwide, to OEMs and in retail
* Includes all features of Premium
* Adds enhanced networking capabilities (Remote Desktop host, domain support, offline folders, etc.)
* Adds Mobility Center
* Adds Presentation Mode

Windows 7 Enterprise

* Available only in volume licenses
* Includes all features of Professional
* Adds Branch Cache
* Adds Direct Access
* Adds BitLocker

Windows 7 Ultimate (Vista equivalent: $320)

* Limited OEM and retail availability
* Includes all features of Enterprise

IMO, why can't they have only two versions? The home and the professional. Wouldn't it make life much more easier? Furthermore, to actually encourage users to switch to Windows 7, although there are positive reviews from the beta, it must be backward compatible and will not have problems supporting the softwares that previous windows supported. Because of the incompatibility, a lot of users refused to switch to Vista. It's a different story now, although some games still refuse to corporate with Vista. Windows 7 must make it easy for user to convert, that will be the critical point of success as it already performs well in the beta tester.

New iPhone rumored, due June 2009.

True or false?

There is no exact proof over how true this can be but it is rumored that there will be a new iPhone from the fellas at Cupertino. Probably during June because summer is the time when Apple will usually introduce new products. It is said that the iPhone will have new features over the old features, which i hope this would be some it:

MMS capability
Copy and Paste
Bluetooth sharing
Video capture
Video call
Better megapixel camera

There is even rumors about an iPhone nano. I wonder.

I'm still waiting to get my hands on one. There's a thing about technology where it is limitless, new stuffs keep emerging everyday and it's difficult to catch up with all. I've been waiting for the iPhone since 2G and now with this new rumor, i am reluctant to get the iPhone. Should i wait? By the time i get enough cash, i bet the new one would be out. Or not.

Current Wanted List

Here are a few items i would want to get my hands on.

  1. Rams (4GB Kits)

Since my Crucial Ballistix Tracer died on me again. Second time. I am considering 2X2GB sticks. I now have 2X1GB patriot and 2X1GB Ballistix Tracer but am running only on 2GB patriot rams. Am considering 2X2GB Kingston HyperX which cost around RM230.

  2. Graphic Card

I keep telling myself i gotta upgrade this, gotta start saving money. Am waiting for the price of 260GTX to go down. Or maybe settle for a ATI HD4870. By upgrading the card, i would have to upgrade my power supply to support the additional power needed. The estimated cost would be around RM1K? If you really want to play games with good graphics, never settle for a mid-range card, it's just not satisfying enough, just like my 8600GTs.

  3. HDD

The endless number of series, movies and ISOs are killing me. i need an additional portable HDD. 1TB should be sufficient. In other news, Seagate has introduced it's first 2TB HDD. Woot!
On the dreamer's list, an i7 system. That would definitely be awesome.

My interview is approaching soon and i'm nervous/excited. I really hope i can get the job. Wish me luck !

I guess that's all for now. Still trying to find a solution to my boredomness. Watched house and played Fifa Online today. I also bought Fifa 09 today. I think i shall just read Steve Berry's The Venetian Betrayal.

Until then.

What?

You know what? We need more of this. Listening too much of emo and rock songs makes me a sadist. LoL. What we need is a dose of happiness. Carefree and nothing to worry about, living in our own world. Yes, we need an escape. So ladies and gentlemen, i present you your escape.

It's too unreal. But it's so happy ! haha.

Next, i present to you, the PCD of Korea. Less power though.

*The girl in pink is kinda hot.*

In case anyone wonder where i got this from, blame MTV.

Something for the girls. Please don't try this on an unstable object.

I'm so freaking bored. Anything to do? Save me from the endless boredom!

Square One

Yay! Update! *Laugh Out Loud*

As everyone should know it is the Chinese New Year, i'm currently at home, catching up with series i've left untouched over the past few months, eating and sleeping, lurking around kopitiam in LY.net, Facebook-ing and gaming. It's good to finally take a break after the long somester. Actually, exams just ended last week.

So anyway, i spent my Chinese New Year on family gatherings, visiting and of course collecting ang pows! These are what i usually do during Chinese New Year. But this year, it was a little different, because i spent time with my girlfriend's family for the first time !!! Usually, it's just dad and mom. But noooooo, two of her sisters have family, so that makes it twice the people you would usually meet. I wasn't really prepared for it, but i told myself, this is a test, for it would be the same situation for my internship interview.

Yes, about that. I've been shortlisted for an interview for my internship with HSBC's IT department. The interview is on the 11th of February. Wish me good luck!

Back to where we left off, how hard could it be? I would just put a smile on my face and respond appropriately to every question. Just like a robot programmed to do the right thing. But it was kinda fun. Instead of what i'd imagined, questions thundering down, eyes staring at me, whispers all around but no, i was treated normally, well normally people treat other people normally, my normally means, well, good? Maybe i was thinking too much. *LOL*.

Moving on, my dad commented on me being able to look at the computer for hours without fail. i'd say aren't all people like that? I was just catching up with Prison Break, 2 more episodes to episode 16 of season 4. I still have season 3 and 4 of house and heroes. To add to the list, Lost just started. Guess i'll be very very busy just trying to finish them, even downloading them takes time with 512MB screamyx in my home. The speed is annoyingly slow.

Since it's the Chinese New Year and we have the opportunity to get ang pows.*A few more years and we'd be giving them, enjoy while you can*. We would all have a plan, something to spend on with the money that we were given. So, on my list, are a few items that i would want to spend my money on.

Number 1
Bank Account - Save the money in to the bank and keep it.

Number 2
Graphic Card - 285GTX anyone? My 8600gts can't play GTA IV.

Number 3
Keyboard - Sidewinder X6 looks tempting...

I think that these are the only things i would think of doing with my ang pow money. Kind of a gadget freak i am.

Serious *kinda* Post

I've been thinking a lot lately. I always wonder on how to decipher the mind of the other gender. For example, when a person cares a lot of someone, he tends to control, which tends to make the other gender uneasy. The girls will usually think that " He wants to control me, he doesn't let me do anything, i want more freedom ". On the other hand, the guys will think "I don't want her to get hurt, i must take care of her". The mind of a male and a female have different ways of decipher a message.

I came up with a few theories to "Certain things guys don't like their girlfriends to do".

1. Insecurity
They do it because they feel insecure. Touching on the issue of being close to another guy friend. Most guys don't like it, they even go to the lengths of forbidding the girl to mix less with guys. That will be classified as a control freak. Jealousy is not wrong, guys should be jealous. Jealous means care, jealous means she is important to you.

2. They know better.
I don't know if there's any truth to this theory. But i do know that, how do i put this. Let's say, guy sees girl talking a lot to a guy this few days, girl is asked to a party, guy says no. Why? because, the guy will think this way : IF i was the guy, what would i do? I'd definitely hit on her, that's what i will do. So in a way, they think they know better, or we call this assuming because what the guys do is think as a guy, what would a guy do.

3. Afraid of change
Some guys are afraid of this. Afraid that one day, girl comes back, starts an argument, say that she wants out. Or girl starts acting wierdly, start dressing wierdly. That is why sometimes we forbid some of the things that may lead to this.

Of all the theories i came up with, some are just bullshit. Hell, i could never even know what am i actually thinking. But i believe some of it are true.

When a girl hurts, it is very easy to spot out. But when a guy hurts, it takes someone who really understands the person to actually notice.

Note: all the above are my own opinion, it comes from my twisted mine, source or concept or truthfullness is irrelevent.

Well, i feel better typing it out. It's difficult to understand.

I'd be talking about something more happier in the next post.

P.S. - Manchester United is on top. Nothing more.

I'm still not over you.

I never denied nor hide it. Inside of me, i'm a mac. But i hunger for raw power, i need more that just a mac to conquer the world. So i had to include PC in my evil legion.

I have always love all things mac, such as the Ipods, the macbooks, and of course, the one and only, iPhone.

Some call it the jesus phone, some say it's part of steve job's plan to rule the world by creating this magnificent device.

I know that some of you may not agree with me, you might say that there are better phones out there that at least supported Copy and Paste !? Come on, it's touch screen, has bluetooth and it wasn't meant for Bluetooth PAN ? What were you thinking over at Cupertino!? The Omnia,HTC Touch or the Blackberry Storm would be better?

However, the iPhone has manage to out shined the other phones with it's slick UI and all sorts of little candies in it's OS. The feeling of touching an iPhone is just uncomparable. By just fiddling around with the Ipod Touch shows the response when you scroll it with your fingers, it's the awesome interface, the animation of the windows fading in and out. It's the applications, the things you are able to do on that phone.

I just could not take my eyes of it when i first saw the iPhone online. I just caught the bug and it's still in me today. I have never looked at any other phones when the iPhone arrived. No more visits to mobile88 to check on reviews on new SE or Nokia phones. I have my Samsung X700 with me until the day i get this phone. You might call me crazy, but i just had to let this out. Even the T-Mobile G1 will not replace your majestic crown even though i was tempted by Android.

Screw you apple, for letting this out of it's cage. I'm trapped in it's core and i'm unable to escape. I don't care about anything other than you iPhone, when would you come to me, you know that my love for you is real. I never loved anything so much until you came. I need to touch you, i need to slide my fingers on that smooth screen of yours and unlock you. I can't take it anymore !!!!! You had me at iPod + phone.

This is a confession of an iPhonenut. Might as well admit me into a psychoward.

Well, that was pleasant. Assignments are pilling up like the moutains. Is it me or are college students trained to do last minute work. I think it's just me.

The switch

I've done it, at the same time being a mean jerk to Microsoft, i've switched from XP to Vista. I was actually working on triple booting with XP, Vista and Ubuntu. Ubuntu and XP was a success but Vista and XP had problems due to partitioning i think, it keeps giving me ridiculous error. After deep thoughts, well, only for a minute or two, i decided to wipe of dear XP who had served me for the past 6 years. You have been a great companion, from crashing when i'm playing games, treating me with the occational blue screen of death, and also freeze up when i'm on an adult site.

GoodBye XP

I salute Windows XP.

In the mean time, i'm enjoying Vista very much. Firstly, security is beefed up. And for all the times i've been saying Vista sucks, initially it does, you gotta use it for yourself to comment whether it's good or bad. I find it awesome, it looks great, works great, functionable, easily configured, maybe not for all people, definitely worth the upgrade.

Not forgetting Ubuntu, awesome effects, i just love the effects, from the desktop cube to the animation. Very good for torrenting, as i'm using it to now. On deluge, as deluge is developed based on Linux. It boots fast and it's best for surfin web and doing online work. Thus, my PC has two identities now, day it's vista and by midnight, it's ubuntu. For torrenting. Haha.

Before all that, i've upgraded my PC by adding a additional 320GB Hard Drive, which enables me to dual boot. And i also fixed in my Tracer Ballistix which just came back from RMA not long ago. I had to clean up the fans and rearrange the cable. It's been a while since i've clean it up.

Inner Workings Of My Desktop

Taking it out.

Lights Up!

Just Love The Way it Lights Up!

My PC.

And now, my PC has bling bling in it ! It's rep restored. Lol.
It's not a beast but it serves me well.

Processor : Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66ghz @ 3.2ghz
Ram : Crucial Tracer Ballistix 2GB, Patriot 2GB
GPU : XFX Geforce 8600GTS
HDD : 2 X Seagate Barracuda 320GB
Mobo : Gigabyte P35c - DS3R
Cooler : CoolViva for GPU, Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 for CPU.
PSU : Enermax FMA 460W
Casing : Raidmax Smilodon
Monitor : Samsung 19inch LCD

Whole unit cost me around RM3500, 1 year ago, now, sadly, price gone down so fast. I could have get a quad core and running a 9800GTX right now.

So recently, results came out. Was quite satisfied actually. But i only took advance paper, others had to take Advance and Bachelor which is a total of 12 papers. I only took 6.

Talking about music, there's a band i would like to introduce to the world, if not know already. It's our own local group Hujan. I've grown to love their songs, first single heard from them was Aku Scandal, very unique and fresh. They have been here for quite a while. Just like the likes of Meet Uncle Hussien and Estranged.

From their MySpace
Formed in early 2006, this wave-worthy band consists of Noh on vocals and 2nd guitar, Dimas on bass, A.G on 1st guitar and Acer on drums. Influenced by a diverse range of bands which include the likes of The Strokes, Butterfingers, and even Pot Amir Radiostaq, Hujan prefers to classify their music as alternative rock and has no qualms about delivering their material in Malay. Living and breathing the element they take their name after, their music alternates between the light, heavy and the torrential storm a reflection of the many stories, moods and agendas embedded in their songs. They sing about everything from love, God, family and to the happenings of the world.

I love the single pagi yang gelap. They are coming out with a new album soon. For more info, please visit their myspace site. http://www.myspace.com/kugiranhujan. They are definitely buzzworthy, one of my favourite local bands!

It's late now, been kinda busy, having replacement classes as Lecturer took leave for two weeks, makes us far far behind, and taking up all our time. Sadness.

Well, a picture to end this entry.

Syok nyer

Sekarang, aku kat rumah ku di penang due to Semester break tetapi hanya untuk dua minggu sahaja. Sudah lepas satu minggu dah, saya telah membuat banyak activity yang syok dan syok.

That's why i got a C in BM for SPM. Never been good with bahasa.

Firstly, i'm back home in Penang. Took me quite a while to update this blog. I'm always having bloggers blocks, i sit in front of the computer, but nothing goes into my head.

Secondly, my semester break ends next week, which kinda sucks. Oh i hate advance diploma. It's so hectic and stressful. Consider myself lucky to not take the external paper, or maybe not, cause Advance Diploma paper so effing hard. Much more harder that the external one. My grades for the semester won't be satisfying.

Thirdly, i've went on a apartment stay with theng and her friends. We went makan makan around penang, went kek lok si, queensbay, and then we went to the beach, dinner at gurney drive, kena patuk by pasembur seller, two plates of pasembur rm32. Played blackjack, won rm2, next day went mamak. had roti bakar, bought tambun biscuits, went home. That practically sums up everything huh. Pictures later!

Currently into a book called Seven Deadly Wonders. It's quite a good book, by Matthew Reilly. Recommended for those who like indiana jones or the da vinci code. It's a mixture of both. The story is about the golden capstone which once sat ontop of the Great Pyramid. It's was said in history that after the Great Pyramid was build, non was ever build later, why did it stop there? What happened to the seven wonders of the ancient world? where they destroyed, or preserved in underground liars build by Imhotep V and IV, the most brilliant engineers and also booby trap inventors. Halfway through the book only. Worth reading.

So, to all you couch potatoes, or me, they are back !! Here are the list of my favourite shows.

Recurring Series
1. Heroes S3
2. Greys Anatomy S5
3. Prison Break S3
4. How I Met Your Mother S4
5. Two And A Half Men S6
6. Supernatural S4
7. Gossip Girl S2

New
1. The Mentalist
2. Fringe *Nice
3. Worst Week
4. Gary Unmarried

These are the few i noted. So much to watch, so little time.

Guess i'll update later, will be back with more stuffs. Suddenly a lot to cakap. Lol

My world this month.

Excuses, that's what the human race are best at.

I've been busy, rushing assignment datelines. After it comes another bunch of datelines. This time, something's different. I feel that, i'm really lacking behind, as i used to be able to solve a programming practical question in like 10 minutes or so. But now, i'm just well, blanked. I haven't been practicing, that's because again, i've been hit by the laziness bug.

Other than that, last week was my convocation. Had lots of fun there. Mum and dad were here to see me receive my empty scroll holder. Took a lot of pictures, which i look terribly ugly in all of them. Stupid mortar board and my stupid expression. I'm so not photogenic. -_-

Dad, Me and Mum

From the right: Me, Marcus, Ju Jing and Ryan

Chia Hau and I
Foursome doing my trademark expression.

From right: Wen Jie, Me and David

Me and Baby

Hats Away ! For Now..

This week has been a terrible week for me. My aunt passed away due to food poisoning, which is due to irresponsible doctors. I can't believe these people dare to call themselves doctors. They have no fucking idea on how precious a life is. Go knock some sense to yourselves. My aunt went in with a normal diarrhea and she just left unexpectedly. I just can't believe it.

Another thing was my football tournament. Well, i suck in field football and i'm ok ok in futsal but honestly, i still suck. Well anyway, we were in the final, which we drew, i did nothing, just ran around and around. Was out of my breathe even we just play for 30 minutes. So, we went into penalties. My team missed 3 penalties and it was up to me as the other team were level with us. Guess what? I missed the fucking penalty. I fucking missed the penalty. Tomato tomato, just the same. I just wasn't thinking, wasn't analyzing, wasn't planning which side, i was too nervous and i just took it. Sigh. Well, we got silver. I wasn't very happy with myself. Dissapointing.

P/s:
Today, i've come to think about it.

Am i a good boyfriend? What does it take to be a good boyfriend? Does he have to be romantic all the time? Does he have to shower here with words of love and gifts and all the sweet sweet stuffs? What does it take? I'm not sure myself.

P/S p/s
Yes marcus, i would definitely prefer if you were here in F4, AIA 1, ISE. LOL.
But all the best in US man.

P/S p/S p/s
It seems that maxis ARE in talks with apple to bring in te IPHONE. I would be the first in line, definitely. Check it out here ! http://iphone3gformalaysia.com/
Please sign the petition if you want the iPhone here in Malaysia !

My world this week/ few weeks

Have been taking long breaks from blogging. It's either i have to many things to do or i just couldn't be bothered. It's been a busy week, i can see all the work piling up. My days are like classes, discussions and assignments. Though i still have time to play games. It's already week 4 of the first semester of my advance diploma year. As i'm in advance diploma, there are so many new faces. Since two of my friends which i usually hang out with are furthering their studies overseas, it's like i have to start over again, getting to know new people. I have realize that i'm kind of a "like-to-isolate-myself" kinda person. I did not even notice that until my girlfriend said she was told that i always sit alone in class. Well, not really sitting alone, but i just like to sit by myself. Maybe that's giving people the impression that i'm stuck up and quiet. Bullshit, i can be as noisy and as annoying as a clown. Other than campus life, everything is as usual, i'm not exercising means my tummy is growing. Petrol price has gone up, cost me RM80 for one full tank, i'm driving at 5KM/H just to go the extra mile.

All this petrol hike issue is causing unsatisfaction among the country. There are protest all around, asking the government to give back their subsidies, which i do not really agree. Idiots i might say. From my opinion, these people are stopping the country from improving or shall i say, upgrading. I would say both the people and the government have their wrong. Firstly, while there are thousands of family out there earning not more than RM1000 a month, it's a burden for them to have the subsidies taken away now. While those who barely survived now have to work even harder to cope with it. With this standard of living, where is the government? Mp's are living in big houses, driving Porches and Ferarri's, while the people ride on their EX-5, bracing the sun and the rain, trying to earn money to survive daily. Ridiculous i might say. Where does all the money go? A question that still remains unsolved.

I myself am trying my best to control my spending. I have been tempted so many times, oh yes i have. Here is the list of the various temptations.

1. Extra Hard Disk
2. Mp3 Player
3. Clothes/Shopping
4. Adidas Shower Gel and Cologne
5. Wireless Keyboard, mouse and game pad.
6. Quad Core
7. iPhone
8. iPod
9. Digital Camera
10. Sneakers

Out of the ten items, i don't think there is one i really need. Except for clothes and the Adidas stuff. Laugh out loud.

Well, guess i shall shove all the money i have left from my daily expenses into the bank.

Having role play presentation tomorrow. Gonna sleep.

What's new this week

I've been trying to finish up a book i bought. Have two books and only am halfway through one. It's called The Alexandria Link by Steve Berry.

An extract from the book

The Library of Alexandria was the most important collection of ancient knowledge ever assembled. The building stood for six hundred years and contained more than half a million manuscripts. Then suddenly it vanished. No trace of this literary treasure has ever been unearthed.

Fifteen hundred years after the library's disappearance, Cotton Malone finds himself at the heart of the mystery. His son is kidnapped, and his bookshop is attacked-all because he's the only man alive who knows the whereabouts of the Alexandria Link, the key to locating the missing library. Purposely hidden away for more than a millennium, a forgotten truth lies within that lost cache of knowledge - one that, if revealed, will have grave consequences not only for Malone but for the balance of world power.
I just love reading books that has mystery, adventure, treasure hunting, the hidden secrets and myths. I thought after Harry Potter, no book can ever give me the thrill and joy *Yes, i'm a potter maniac*. I was just exaggerating. I kinda like how Steve Berry writes the story, the way he puts the action in words that makes your imagination run wild.

I have another book, which is called the Seven Deadly Wonders. I always have been fascinated by the ancient seven wonders which is

* Great Pyramid of Giza
* Hanging Gardens of Babylon
* Statue of Zeus at Olympia
* Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
* Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus
* Colossus of Rhodes
* Lighthouse of Alexandria

I was always curious on how they were built, the history behind it, it's all so interesting. Especially the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. I don't really understand why they call it the Handing Gardens, it always has been a mystery to me, even after countless illustrations by artist. The Statue of Zeus on the other hand is a magnificent wonder. I have always been interested in greek mythology. Zeus, Poseidon, Apollo are all great gods. Plus watching Hercules since young and believing almost every bit of it just makes me want to know more.

But now, the world has came out with the New Seven Wonders which are

Great Wall of China
Petra
Christ the Redeemer (statue)
Machu Picchu
Chichen Itza
Taj Mahal
Great Pyramid

These are the wonders where you can still see with you eyes unlike the ancient wonders. They are all really fascinating and i hope one day, i will be able to visit all of them. I wanna be like Indiana Jones!

Until then, i shall stick to reading my book.

Last but not least, i will share with you guys the song that has been playing in my mind for the past few days.

Will-i-am - Heartbreaker

Cheers.

Awkwardness

Sometimes, i wonder how people with big social ties manage their social life. Especially friends. I find myself at times getting very attached to friends, no i don't mean clingy, i tend to care to much. How they think about me, how they treat me, how i treat them, when they are in need of help, i would lend a hand.

For me, it always comes to a point where i start to be afraid to care, because, i care to much at times that it inserts a gap between the friendship. I used to be very sensitive, like even normal friends i would treat them like family, and them i would try to insert my evil thoughts in to them, controlling them to become mindless zombies that would be only MY friend.

Yes, i was like that, well, not the insert evil thoughts part but i would tend to get jealous at times, especially people close to me get closer with other people, especially people i know, i felt betrayed, somehow like, you took away my friend, while you are my friend, you friend snatcher !

I felt that way before, and i could not control myself, it was like i had too much of soya milk. Makes me feel all girly. But it hurts so much, when you know you gone too far, and from that moment onwards, the friendship we shared will never be the same again.

If i said i've changed now, i believe i have. I've become not so involved in other people's life, i tend to not ask too much, because you lead your own life though at times i'm still a little nosy. Thus, i have a lot of hi-bye friends too.

My friend, i have always wanted to be included in your circle but now, i'm outside your circle, observing you and your friends in the circle, only to be invited in when asked. It's awkward, to feel this way, when we used to be close before, sharing everything with each other.

We live a different life now, our own to manage, though i'm glad we still talk and have a lil time to spare for each other.

If i would have a chance to turn back time, i would. It was better in the past.

or is this just because we've outgrown each other.

Cheers, my friend.

The Final Showdown

May 11 2008, it all ends.

The Barclays Premier League is closing to the final stages and the competition is as fierce as ever with Manchester United and Chelsea tied in first place but Manchester United leading with a big goal difference.

Chelsea fades away~

Tomorrow Manchester United will be up against Wigan and Chelsea against Bolton. They will be played at the same time which is 11pm Malaysian time. Tomorrow, all players will be on top of their game for the final battle, all fans will be the 12th player for their respective teams to cheer them on.

I'm so excited.
Not this year Chelsea, Not this year!

Wigan's boss, Steve Bruce vows that his team will give 100% against United tomorrow but he also asked Chelsea to forget about the title.

I'm so so excited.

Revenge.

Two weeks later, Manchester United will again face Chelsea for the ultimate final showdown for the UEFA Champions League cup in Moscow! Speculations say that since Russia is home to Roman Abromovich which is Chelsea's owner, they will certainly win the cup.

I doubt that.

On that day, i will be in my red jersey, cheering hard for my team, watch out Chelsea.

Glory glory Manchester United !

Up And Posting..Again

It's been a long time since i last blogged. As some may experience this wierd after effect of blogging call boredome-ness. Well, for me, i seem to be not the only one suffering from that virus as you can easily see, there are thousands of blogs out there left unattended to after a while ! So i guess you can say that it's normal.

It was actually a friend of mine who "beg" me to update my blog again *just kidding*. I shall be kind to reveal her identity - She's joe-lene from joe-lene.blogspot.com. Well, technically we've known each other for years now since our parents know each other and etc etc. She's in Aussie now and she's been complaining about the lack of nutrition (as in Char Kuay Teow, Asam Laksa, Hokkien Mee etc etc) to her daily diet. So i'm here to show her how much she is missing back here in Penang although it seems like she's really enjoying there without needing any nutrition at all.

But today i only have this.

Porridge with tuna and mushrooms and crabsticks.

How did i ended up in that is because i've been sick for the past few days. I had FluVerSoreThroatPhlegmHeadache. You get the point. So no Char Kuay Teow or Hokkien Mee or Curry Mee for this week, just plain non solid food and lots of water. It's only been one and a half week since i came back to Penang for semester break and i'm already down with all kinds of sickness due to food consumed in the first week back here and the following week i had to suffered. It wasn't worth it clearly as i only have two more weeks before Advance Diploma starts.

And yea, i've graduated from Diploma. The last semester was quite a hectic one in terms of workload though we do not have final exams *buahahahaha* because we were busy creating a system for our final mini project. I only had two subjects which is the mini project and English for Science. Sounds easy eh? Sounds but not quite.

Moving on, my mom has returned from Europe. She has been travelling around Europe since April and has been to 8 countries including Rome, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Holland, Germany, Belgium and France. It wasn't like staying in 5 star hotels and eating meals in restaurant. She went backpacking for short. It was kinda tough having to travel on your own, well she went with 6 others, and having one meals per day or cook as it was expensive to eat out. It cost RM60 for a meal of mcdonalds.

Don't sue me, but i just can't afford to have a RM60 meal !

Well, it's like that because when the almighty Ringgit Malaysia is convert to Euros, it turns to small atoms.

Mom even went to Amsterdam. Most of you should know what's in Amsterdam when drugs and prostitution are legal in Holland *smiles wickedly*. It's the well known Red Light District !

Image from travelblog

If you've watched Euro Trip, then you'd be familiar with it. Mom was there actually, looking around, she said the town was dirty and she didn't like it because of the activities there. I could not agree more *drools*.

Mom brought back some souvenirs though. In my heart i was shouting and screaming "IPhone ! IPhone !" . I wasn't expecting one but surprises are known to come right? She didn't get me an IPhone *sobs* but she got me this -

Swiss Knife with my name on it.

A Victorinox swiss knife! It's a portable killing machine and the best part is, it has my name on it so when i perform my work, they will know my name !! I sound like a serial killer. Every man has his secrets, hmm. I've been wanting a swiss knife for ages now because it's so cool and it's very useful during travelling and hiking etc.

My Cool List
Stuffs from Sony, Apple, Intel, NVidia, Microsoft, Creative, Nikon, Canon.

I'm a gadget freak.

Anyway, that's not the only thing she came back with. She brought stuffs from disneyland, the peeing boy from Brussels.
This peeing boy.

It's real name is called mannekan pis and it's the most famous fountain in Brussels. It actually has a history behind it. For more info check out wikipedia. Mom brought back miniatures mannekan pis. She even brought back pasta.

An ordinary pack of pasta from Rome,i think.

Nothing special eh? Well, take another look at it.

Find the hidden mickey!

It's hilarious when i first saw it. It was unique. Now guys and girls can have it and not be shy about it !

La grande pasta.

Still unsure about it? Yes ! It is the male reproductive organ. *-____-*

1.58PM

Can't sleep, i have dreams, of becoming a well known person, able to support my family, able to drive nice cars, able to migrate out of here, long term dreams. Short term dreams? Usually realistic ones, as reality keeps hitting me on my back. Well. Dreams..

One Fine Day

Geek From Mars has been off for quite a while. The geek got lazy and decided to put off this blog for a while but now, he just can not cope with reality so he's back here.

Reality sucks. I've been alright for the past few weeks. It's now the end of 5th week into the 6th semester of my diploma year. How faster can time flow. I've been as lazy as ever. Out of touch as always. I am having this really I'm-Lazy-And-I-Don't-Want-To-Study feeling. College is as suffering as days pass. It's no more like a college, it's freaking back to secondary school where you have like so much work to do, attendance to lecture is compulsory, classes at 8 in the morning, i know i'm whining about necessary stuffs that i'm suppose to do. Imagine how worse would it be when i'm working.

I'm getting distracted easily, feeling pressure by the environment, i think my mentality is playing tricks on me, at home, in college, i just feel i can not fit in, there's like so much flaw in everyone, i'm judging i know. I'm flawed, very, i've been very sensitive to people's judgment and views lately. Sometimes i just get left behind. I'm already out here, living without my family, of course i need friends, but sometimes it hurts so much when friends you know and trust abandon you.

I've learnt to cope with that, just put aside the anger and frustration and smile. Get emo a little, but, just be patient.

The future, it's so near, in just a few more months, i would be graduating from diploma, continue my studies somewhere, or no where ? I've got fairly good grades for last semester, all A's, but accumulate only 3.66 for my CGPA. That's actually out of my expectation, i did not expect myself to perform that well, and here comes the part, where i have to continue striving this semester for good grades so that i can have scholarship for my next level of studies. The pressure is piling up and at times i just want to give up, i'm tired, i don't know why, there's no more a goal, to motivate me. I know there is, but i don't see it, i just don't.

What is the purpose of my life, i don't want to go in to this, but people do ask themselves this question, when they are lost, and don't know what to do.

Other than that, everythings cool. As i said a few months ago i'm assembling a new PC, here it is! No picts because connection sucky..Damn it.

With this baby, i'm just hooked to it all day and night. I just finish playing bioshock. Next would be Hellgate:London. And i have a new addiction, i used to swear that i would never play that game ever, but since WTF modes, ap modes and now ar modes, i'm officially into DOTA. Damn it, it's just so fun. Nothing more to say.

And i sold of my Ipod, getting myself a PSP Slim & Lite. Ice Silver. Will post picts when i get it. No body seems to like silver, don't know why, maybe it's because silver is dull kut.

AS i'm typing, the connection for some reason is so freaking slow. Geram nyer.

Guess i'll continue tomorrow, this would be my first post since last semester break.

signing out.
